I think most knew Sam would go to #1 on iTunes US.  The people acting "shocked" are doing that to shade Taylor.  It is in no way a shock that a man who's last album was bigger then Ed Sheerans in the US is capable of topping iTunes US.  The man is an Oscar winner.  More shocked that Zayn has not done it, yet.  Clearly why he released yesterday but he isn't a Grammy and Oscar winning artist. They released a day early because they knew Sam had the #1.  Everybody knew, except atrl.

Sam's comeback was filled with uncertainty, even a music chart expert from hdd or billboard wouldn't accurately know where he would land. He's an artist that's been mainly smashin' under the radar, he's a wild card. Everyone expected a top 10 of course, but to beat Taylor's big lead, LET'S NOT.

I know and he still could pull a Lorde but I think he'll pull an Ed Sheeran because, besides Taylor, 2017 has been all about the men.  Of course being #1 on iTunes does not automatically equal huge sales so we will have to see just how big and strong his lead is throughout the entire week.

Nobody knew what Sam would do in truth. We've seen quite a few HUGE popstars stumble lately and disappoint. To some extent we still dont cause he needs some stability and longevity. He's not a high profile popstar with an obvious diehard fanbase who will rush out the gates. Its a great start but as a fan Im not counting my chickens just yet. Im sure he's very relieved cause I know he's been incredibly anxious about its reception. He's got the covetted #1 start. which many big stars do not always get tbf. And he snatched Taylors wig. Well, wigs. And fans love it.

Taylor does not own iTunes so he has not snatched her wig or wigs.  To effectively snatch her wigs he will need to sell better then 353k for the ENTIRE week.  He has to first snatch Ed's wig before he can come for Taylor.  Baby steps, let's not let this iTunes #1 go to our heads.  Let's see where he'll be at the start of his third week.  He likely won't be sitting at the top of the hot 100 like Taylor is at the start of her third week.

Then Demi, Selena and P!nk snatched Despacitos wig on itunes.  But it was still the #1 hot 100 song but hey do you.  If I'm an artist, I'll take the #1 on the chart that matters.  Any random voice contestant will hit #1 on iTunes.
