Yes I actually am saying that. It was very much a summer vibe song fuelled by the summer weather. It wouldnt have had such strong sales through winter thats for sure. In europe people heard it when on holiday and then played it back home cause it gave them that feelgood mood again. Thats how summer smashes work.

 

It may have been a hit during other seasons but not as powerful. My point.

You dont have to be #1 everywhere. Euro markets always have their own local acts doing well theres no uniformity. Sam is #2 in europe cause he is doing well in LOTS of markets. Thats the point. Better to be top 20 in 30 markets than just #1 in a few. Which is what a lot of local acts do.

 

Sam is clearly much stronger in English language countries. Probably because a large part of his appeal is the relatable lyrics. Not the strong catchy hooks that appeal across the board globally. Anyways, with 7 million album sales he doesnt have to worry about Bulgarians buying his music.

What? A front loaded success is still a success. Especially when it's not front-loaded at all.  Staying at #1 for 6 weeks is for sure a success, as is staying at #1 for 2 weeks.

You're talking about the original version which had its own special latin appeal. And the weather seasons are not the same worldwide. Im referring to the Bieber version which lets be honest is where its english language market success lies. And a huge bulk of its global sales. That was very much propelled by the summer season. In the UK certainly theres a very long tradition for foreign dance songs to smash hard in the summer.
