Honestly, it's been on life support for a while now, especially when you take into consideration how hits from last year charted throughout the Q1 and Q2 of 2025 whilst some songs from major artists released this year barely charted for a full month. This time around last year we were experiencing the brat era in real time, while The Bar Song was on the verge of hitting number one on the BB100. We also had Sabrina and Chappell making noise with their releases, and their music is STILL charting within the top 40 from last year... currently. It's crazy how 2024 carried over into 2025, and we're still listening to music released last year—and from years earlier, for that matter. I don't know why the music industry stagnated this year, but it's very apparent and bizarre.

Gaza continues to lose precious lives; Diddy walks free; Trump is president. I really hope this is the end of times because humanity has lost all of its humanity a LONG time ago, and too many idiots are too consumed with social media to even care, let alone focus on the REAL enemies for once. My heart goes out to the victims in all of this. I wish I could even invest some form of monetary support, but with the way the economy I'm in right is going, that is proving to be difficult.

The remix of Girl So Confusing featuring Lorde officially turns 1 today. Upon release, it received universal praise from both fans and critics alike for its honesty and lyrical themes of female relationships, body image, insecurities and self-confidence. A little background for those who aren't in the know, Charli had mentioned that prior to the release of brat, she had sent Lorde a voice note explaining that she was the main inspiration behind the track. This, in turn, prompted Lorde to respond in kind with an apology, and suggested that the two collaborate on the song. The rest is HERSTORY. The reactions from major outlets like Pitchfork, awarded it Best New Track and praised the collaboration as a "watershed moment" for the two artists, as the lyric "let's work it out on the remix" went viral on social media. It placed within the top ten best songs of 2024 on numerous publications, such as Billboard, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, The NYT, Consequence, etc. The subject matter from Lorde's perspective also highlights issues stemming from body issues ("I've been at war with my body/I tried to starve myself thinner...") and confidence, whilst also touching on women being pitted against one another in the music industry: "it's you and me on the coin/the industry loves to spend." With that said, this remix will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the greatest remixes of the decade—I'd even go so far as to say of all time, but that's a story for another day. Anyways, Happy Anniversary to one of the best songs released last year!

Witnessing that live was truly phenomenal. I absolutely adored Titanic Rising, and it's one of those rare albums where there's no skip—even the weaker tracks are superior to some classic albums' offerings. The lyricism, instrumentals and vocals were all stellar track to track, and she truly delivered on all fronts during the last year of that decade. No album, imo, has sunk its hooks into me ever since, and I'll be damned if something like that ever comes into my lifetime again. The Halley's Comet of music!

Sade (6 studio albums in total, 3 released in the '80s with the remaining 3 being released in each subsequent decade, i.e. one in the '90s, 1 in the '00s and the last being in the '10s). I just know she'll release one soon, though!

I agree, but her stance on Palestine somehow makes me wince and reconsider her acting altogether. No tea, ALL shade. She truly embodied the Evil Queen because she is inherently evil. We can go back and forth on her acting, but her being deplorable is another thing entirely and merits any/or criticism directed towards her.

I remember downloading Heaven and Las Vegas on RapidShare back in the day and obsessively listening to it so much that I eventually bought it on iTunes. This, Heaven and Las Vegas, Frou-Frou Foxes in Midsummer Fires, Cherry-Coloured Funk and Fotzepolitic are all fantastic songs and I hope their genius gets more recognition in the years to come. Their discography is amazing and Liz Fraser in general is so underrated.
