' knew it, I knew you' is sonically one of the most interesting songs she's released since evermore. Nothing lyrically too deep, but it's nice to hear her experimenting with new chord sequences and leaning into that 60s/70s folk-rock sound. It's got a bit of a Carole King Tapestry vibe to it, which would be a lovely direction for TS13 and would work thematically as her honeymoon/happily-married era album. Something straight-forward, emotionally deep, and sepia-toned would be lovely.

Came expecting reputation (which I would say is more overhated than underrated) but elated to see some love for evermore. It is a beautiful record.

I could see these being SOTY (CT) and ROTY (TFOO)

The more time passes the more I'm convinced this should have been a full emo-rock album. The sound doesn't match the lyrics' freak. I also kind of wish the standard album told the full Matty heartbreak-induced-mental-breakdown story and the anthology was dedicated to the songs that didn't quite fit that narrative. With a little more structure and tighter direction, TTPD would have been a sonically cohesive concept album for the ages.

It's so performative. A very bad faith reading of some very normal things to say.

Taylor's State of Grace sounds like a lost hit from prime U2, I wish she'd explore that sound more as it naturally fits her voice and writing style.

An interesting strategy for gaining relevance. Funny how just a few years ago every up-and-coming artist would gushed endlessly about their obsession with TS to make headlines. Swings and roundabouts.

Carly Rae should be a bigger artist I'll never understand why Run Away With Me and Cut To The Feeling weren't global smash hits. Two of the best pop melodies of the past 20 years.

The thing with Taylor post Midnights is that at any point in time she is as famous and successful as she decides to be. If she wanted to be back on the front pages tomorrow she would be but I would imagine she's trying to lay low so that her name and brand aren't totally oversaturated by the time of the wedding. Showgirl for the most part was a very poor effort but it could have been more of a proper "era" if she had wanted it to be.

An album that sounds like the live version of Illicit Affairs is what I want for TS13. Essentially the acoustic rock sound of songs like All Too Well (original) is what I've been craving from her for ages. I feel like it's been ages since she's been in a studio with a full live band.l and real drums.

Timothee scandal aside, MBJ's performance was the weakest of the nominees.

This is a situation where a simple sorry can't fix things and would actually make things a lot worse. If he were to say sorry, he would: A) imply he was responsible for the use of the word and there was intent behind it B) send an extremely public message that people who suffer from Tourette's should be expected to apologise for the way they were born He can express deep embarrassment and a feeling of being "mortified" which is absolutely appropriate in this situation . He pulled himself out of the environment to prevent causing any more unintended pain or distress. But seeing widespread online discourse about how he shouldn't be allowed to attend events and that he should've stayed home or that he should be forced to watch ceremonies in a segregated area is genuinely concerning. There seems to be a gap between how the US population understands/is educated on TS vs the rest of the world.

It's a terribly unfortunate situation but I feel like if he properly apologised for saying that word then it would imply responsibility which would actually only cause more harm. The only people who owe an apology are whoever decided not to edit the moment from the broadcast.
