She's a much bigger household name than a lot of the people mentioned in this thread imo. From my experience, most irl people know her name and this recognisability is more important than having another smash (on top of the many she already had from her first two eras).

In my opinion, she is THE pop star. She radiates joy and positivity, truly a beacon of light. Her performances and looks are incredibly stylish, and her singles discography is by far the best in pop music. There are so many fantastic tracks in her catalog. While she may be underrated in certain aspects, her remarkable endurance speaks volumes about the quality of her work. This is so true! The one and only Kylie!

I think a lot of her appeal is owed to creative direction and songwriting by Mylene Farmer and her composer, Laurent Boutonnat. Mylene is the biggest female pop artist to come out of France for a reason. Alizee was mentored by them for her first two albums (both massively successful).

They were always bigger commercially. Though their music stopped being interesting post 1995... meanwhile Blur have a long string of great albums post the britpop era.

It's become be very common for albums to quickly drop down the UK chart. This isn't very indicative of the album's success. Also the 27 tracks don't help here, the chart rules only count the first 16 songs and the top 2 get weighted down to the average of the other 14. Basically only GH or streaming smash albums can chart for long periods nowadays.
