Currently the third most streamed song on the platform, with an easy to path to become the #1 of all time, seeing the daily streams. And yet, I never heard this ****, let alone irl. Is it the definitive autoplayed fake smash? Is it playlisting? What is going on?

This song used to be everywhere in alt rock spaces and was constantly on the radio back in the day.

Are ATRLers supposed to be there

This song is massive as in massive for years

I think some of you need to understand that the pop stars we follow here are niche now there is a world of music out there

ive heard snippets of it on tiktok however im not so sure how it sounds in full

this is not a spotify smash this is a TUMBLR smash don't mess with the sacred texts!

Only on ATRL would someone make this thread, list one of the most popular and instantly recognizable songs from recent memory, and then act like their personal listening habits (and lack of going outside) prove the song is fraudulent rip

Some of you really think your personal taste and experiences is what dictates public opinion

song is well known . it was released in 2012 reaching #14 on the Hot 100 and #7 at Pop radio . it does not look like it was as popular outside the US during it's original release. in 2025 it was the #34 song for the year on Billboards Global chart.

Somehow. I don't know how. But somehow, I've avoided hearing this song even once. And we love to see that!

the way a thread about this same CLASSIC song has been threaded multiple times before, such as this one is sending me:

Happy more people can be exposed to this amazing hymn jonny5

Let's get the Chip Chrome and the Monotones era to get a resurgence next omg. or have "scary love" and "stargazing" go mega viral!

Yes you're just in terminally online spaces. It's 16x plat, the biggest & most culturally relevant alt rock song of 2010s

It is not sung by a gay pop diva so I have never heard of it

The song is not bad but it would sound better with Lana's or Billie's vocals

ATRL lives in a bubble because this is one of the most timeless indie crossover hits that is bigger than alot of pop girl hits that ATRL proclaims is global on this website

I listen to a lot of indie/alt-rock and I've literally never heard this rip shocked to see it has 5B streams

Yeah, I used to be into them before Jesse dated Billie AND their drummer assaulting Maria Zardoya (and then them bringing him back after firing him briefly). I still hear the song every year, it's a modern fall classic unfortunately, y'all probably aren't outside enough
