  1. It makes sense, Ariana has been consistently bigger than her the last 12 years which is majority of Gaga's career.
  2. Frank Ocean Kendrick Lamar Most artists who died early (automatically get overpraised and hypersensitive to any critiques). Halsey, Kesha, etc (artist who's personal underdog narrative is the forefront of their identity so people twist it into you being insensitive to them if you critique the music)
  3. Why even bother addressing it at this point? Nobody is actually still thinking of that collab or genuinely cares. Anyone still bringing it up online to fake their outrage is just a troll or hater who would still dislike her if the song never existed.
  4. Not similar at all. "My Love is Your Love" is an R&B core album with multiple R&B hits over a decade after her debut. "Preachers Wife" was literally a Gospel soundtrack prior. Then after that "Just Whitney" was a core R&B album, as well as the grand comeback era "I Look to You" which was entirely R&B carried. The Weeknd only made core R&B before he had mainstream success, then ONLY made core Pop afterwards. R&B was literally a stepping stone for him and that's it. The difference with MJ is even during his crossover he still consistently was as huge with R&B audiences. Dangerous had "Remember the Time", Invincible was mostly R&B hits, etc. The Weeknd has consistently relied entirely on Pop ever since the second he had a mainstream breakthrough and has yet to ever have consistent R&B hits since.
  5. Hmm weird, I could've sworn Love Me Harder (the Ariana Grande collaboration) was a hit before The Hills Then there was Earned It, which while R&B was also Pop oriented to the point of being played on Hot AC & AC. Then there was Can't Feel My Face which was completely entirely Pop. Then finally The Hills I guess. So 3 singles on playlists next to Meghan Trainor before The Hills.
  6. The distinguishing difference is that it did not move notable sales in the initial years or have any huge hits, then AFTER he released Pop music and became mainstream it was heavily discovered afterwards. His entire commercial career was carried off of making Pop music. He did not have years of R&B success and tons of R&B hits like any of the others on this list. Literally more similar to Bruno/Bieber/Rihanna/Timberlake and not an Usher.
  7. Cult classic more than a hit era. It was not big at the time. He did not reach any true mainstream level or garner a notable hit until he did Pop. Every other artist on this list reached mainstream heights with R&B even if they later on released Pop.
  8. Those aren't hit eras to begin with, almost all his success is with Pop music is the point. It's to the point where even Bruno/Bieber are releasing more R&B than him pls. He doesn't even make as much R&B as his Pop contemporaries let alone other R&B artists.
  9. He has a whopping total of 4 songs that have went top 10 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay across all of his albums Everyone else on this list probably has 4 Urban hits from one album alone.
  10. Counting him as primarily R&B at this point lol? Misewell include Rihanna too
  11. $50m owed for not doing two more albums is crazy These labels know how to keep someone indebted. It's a **** situation because it must be annoying to have to stick at a workplace for multiple years after you're ready to leave, but also I don't think she'd really do much more numbers anywhere else either so.
  12. + Lana, Bad Bunny, Future, Metro Boomin, Travis Scott, and PinkPantheress. And more to come. The video game of the decade is getting every fave involved This is a true cultural moment.
  13. I thought this passed years ago, even The Man has passed 1 billion omg
  14. Tinashe & Miley pulling similar streams first week is crazy
  15. A trolling warning automatically restricts you from posting for multiple days and that user is still posting. Meaning he wasn't warned or was purposely given a less accurate warning category to avoid that. He also unintentionally admitted he wasn't warned for that post by replying and getting angry I was "snitching". I didn't report it because there's no need to. I'm sure another user did and even if they did not, the OP of this thread is a moderator, and on top of that there is LITERALLY additional Swiftie mods in here reading every post because they have participated in paragraphs of arguing on each page themselves. So there is logically no way a staff member did not see that post prior to me bringing it up. So now what?
  16. You mean to tell me the moderator Swifties such as @PumpkinTim have been in these threads aggressively trying to warn any "Anti-Taylor" post all week yet then turn around and directly ignore this post and let this user continue posting because they're friends with them…. How do you escalate things to administrator at this point so I can get the ball rolling? This group is just ridiculous. Inform the audience how this doesn't meet the set trolling criteria of: "Do not harshly "drag" a celebrity/fan base". - Eh updates so far. This deluxe really wasn't necessary.
  17. Showgirl was barely selling 1k a week prior to this new version less than one year in, her popularity is not "10x bigger" in pure sales since she isn't shifting any huge amounts in the long run after the initial few weeks. Second week pure sales: Midnight - 114k Showgirl - 101k She sold 3x more first week, then immediately begin selling less afterwards. If she actually had gained 3x more buyers since then why is it selling much worse in subsequent weeks? If you are "10x more popular" as you described then in general even past the first week it should also be selling considerably more. Debut to Fearless is an actual example of her popularity growing 10x more which is why in addition to Fearless selling tons more first week the sales over the following weeks/months were also much higher than the predecessor. An album with tons more variants selling more only first week then collapsing way more after is indicative of variants repeat buyers pulling numbers and not a bigger fanbase / general public draw.
  18. Never said otherwise. In fact I still think this album would've done 1~ million pure regardless even without excessive variants, hence me saying it'd probably be at 3.5m~ after a year (it's only done 2.5m in streaming equivalents). Lover, folklore, evermore, Fearless TV, Red TV, Speak Now TV, etc all did either around 1m pure or less during their first years (aka all the albums without excessive variants during release week). The Swifties in this thread evidently have horrible reading comprehension, because the point was never to say she isn't a huge seller but that her albums do perform at a similar level to other top females without the first week bloating
  19. ...You brought up streaming numbers, I did not bring it up
  20. Switching the convo first, now switching the artist focused on second Showgirl is not "obliterating" Billie or Olivia's last albums in streaming. You should just stop replying tbh you've made no reasonable points and keep desperately trying to switch the point to something else.
  21. You can say that as much as you want and it doesn't make it true unfortunately. This has been a wonderful past week actually
  22. The other fanbases didn't repeat buy as much, hence why 60% of their total consumption aren't in one week. What's not clicking Congrats on buying 20 editions of one of the worst received Pop albums of this decade though! They'll look real good in a dumpster dive TikTok years down the line.
  23. Switching the convo once the facts come out Congrats to Taylor for having a fanbase that bought the same album 10 times before hearing it only to find out after it was crap Such an intelligent group.
  24. Except variants really mostly only impact first week. The only week where pure is the majority of the units, and most variants are limited pressings sold out after first week. Olivia & Billie's first week sales are about 10-20% of their total sales after one year. Showgirl's first week sales are about 60% of its total sales after one year. Which again is K-Pop level bloating and frontloaded. So in conclusion, no, variants do not carry their numbers in the similar capacity it does for Taylor even if they are offering them.
  25. I didn't give her writing credit for a post
