CD singles were much cheaper than full albums. Some of them were even deep discounted to $0.99. Also, it was convenient for people who only wanted the single and not the full album (like non-stans and casual listeners). If the person really really liked the song and/or liked subsequent singles, they would eventually buy the album or at least that's what the label hoped and would often come true.

I empathize with Carmit because she used to my fave, but the way she handled herself these past few years is immature, which is so strange because I used to like her the most thinking that that she was the most mature and seasoned out of all them. The other Dolls sounded ditzy, young and stupid next to her and Kim in 2005-06. Now she behaves like a Karen. If she sat down and had a honest conversation and spoke about her grievances with Kim (who is the diplomat that's tried to support every single of the Dolls for the past 20 years), Nicole and Ashley, they would support her. Instead she gives digging herself into a deeper hole and has sided with Jess of all people who's just far gone. And the worst part about it is that I do not believe for a second that Jess really believes the stuff she's posting. She (like Kaya) found a niche that pays a few bills. It's sad and it's pathetic, especially considering who her fanbase was and the stuff she (supposedly) stood for before. In my fantasy, all 6 would reunite (I used to wish Melody was back in 2019-20), but right now it's just completely unrealistic for Jess and Carmit with their behavior. Melody doesn't want to come back and I respect her decision.

Maybe in terms of modern popularity, but Don't Cha was a massive global hit in 2005. Hard to beat that. It also has the advantage of being featured in movies, TV shows and commercials. Buttons stays popular thanks to streaming and TikTok. It's the superior song.

Why blame Nicole? She's the one who invested $200,000 of her money into the reunion while Robin threw Live Nation's advance down the drain. Wouldn't you expect your employer to reimburse you if you paid for your supplies to work on their project? She rightfully countersued Robin and Robin rightfully withdrew her case because Nicole was right. And that's not what Carmit and Jess are livid about. They want to be included, but no one likes them, especially the anti-vaxxer ranting about transgender children. Shame on Carmit for associating herself with that.
