Why did Abracadabra have poor longevity?

Featured Replies

Abracadabra was easily one of the best and biggest female songs last year. It started out with a huge debut and had quite good promotion for her standards, that it even became one of her staple hits

So why it's still stuck at 800 M streams, I really don't get

1 of the biggest? It didn't even go top 10 for on the Hot 100 lol.

Anyways it's a Gaga solo song, that's why.

It doesn't have poor longevity, the monsters just overhyped the song. It has the longevity you expect for a moderate hit that didn't even go top 10.

I think Abra is great and I think Gaga was lucky to have a hit this side because it's not going to ve easy to have this again, especially not solo

It's a small hit. Monsters shot themselves in the foot with the whole "most-streamed female song of 2025" 24/7 bragging when all the other big songs were releases months later. Now look at that. All the other big songs released months later have far out-streamed it and Abra is stuck in the 800-1000m for months, of not for years to come.

It was a nice moment in 2025, but in the long run people would just rather hear the original and superior songs she rehashed for it like Judas or Bad Romance.
