Does anyone else get a weird thrill from random bus rides?

I feel so weird saying this, but on my free days at home, I often feel alone and kinda depressed. So I just travel by bus wherever I feel like.

One day, I went from the city center all the way to the outskirts of town.

Man, rides like these feel like a climax to me. just me, a window seat, Spotify, and beautiful nature.

Has anyone else done something like this? I feel kinda stupid and happy at the same time. smile

I am always taking public transport to random places but I love to ride my bike most of all. Just moved to London in December and have so much to explore still.

omg I thought I was the only one with this interest rip rip rip rip rip the other weekend I rode a new tram route that was reopened in the city I live in deadbanana your post is really assuring because this "niche hobby" of mine sometimes makes me feel like an absolute loser

I love doing it when I have some extra time while travelling. It's a great way to get a sense of what everyday life is for locals, once you go out of the city centre limits. Prague and Brussels have amazing tram systems.

I like listening to music in public places sometimes. There is something about being out in the world with my Headphones On literally listening to my favorite song.

this is me but for hiking/discovering new nature trails, not weird at all !

Sometimes I'm bored and I take my car and drive listening music and checking things out

Came here to post a Meghan Trainer gif but you melted my black cynical heart for a cute lil moment heart

Enjoy your bus rides! Nothing weird about it.

I can't think of anything worse than getting the bus, having to listen to people's conversations on loudspeaker and old men playing AI tiktok stories on full blast rip

It's not stupid, at all!

I do that all the time when I'm in a city where I don't know anyone; I treat myself to a ride, sometimes I'll just walk towards places/areas that catch my eye, or sometimes, without a predetermined destination, and it feels so good to just go from one place to the next. It's like a little, underrated pleasure.

I also hate driving, so public transportation is super enjoyable to me alexz

Yeah, I do this too! I love to drive with the Subway to places I haven't been before and explore the city.

Yes, I always find it therapeutic in a weird way jonny Especially since when I lived in LA, it would usually take an hour to get from one end of the city to another via bus, and I always found it relaxing to just sit there and watch the city pass by

What you described sounds really nice but I can't stand public transport and avoid it as much as possible. People are way too annoying, unpredictable and straight up dangerous these days so I'd rather listen to music and soak up the scenery on a hike where I can appreciate the beauty of nature with minimal people. coffee

I do however love watching the world passing by as I listen to music, but I'd rather be a passenger in a car with people I know and trust than on public transport with strangers. I don't think I could allow myself to fully relax in that particular surrounding.

I usually do this with walking cause I can't stand the busses, they're sometimes overcrowded. But I do enjoy a little train ride here and there

I took buses like maybe thrice a week and it's not always the best feeling especially during rush hours rip

One of the things I miss most after graduating college is no longer needing to walk around a lot/use public transport. I also love just riding around/strolling listening to music. I don't think this is weird at all!

This has not happened to me on busses, but it was something I liked doing on trains and on subways back when I lived in a super high profile major city that had all those going on.
