I feel like , especially when it comes to pitchfork reviews and d!ck sizes , people think that a 7.0 means average when 5.0 would literally be the threshold for "average". So this is an above average score!

Well at least it isn't as low as Fantano:

They don't like earnest, unabashedly emotional songwriting.

These reviews demotivate real artists to make real arts so much tbh...

Like you want to give some of the last hopes for music a low score? Artists like Raye need to be encouraged.

The review reads higher than the score

That's a hate crime

An ambitious album doesn't equal a good album. My own faves are often guilty of this, but she needs someome to help her edit. This score is lowkey kind, and the other scores are inflated because of the goodwill she (rightly) receives.

the five star reviews are mass psychosis

co-workers and Ross Dress For Less shoppers everywhere are seething

Where is My Husband! is obnoxious and grating...hopefully she has something more soothing to listen to on this...

Yeah this album is so messy. I think it's the best score it could get

I like RAYE but what is this regressive ass line of thought on Atrl of all places?

If "real artists" are being disencouraged to keep making art because of some critics then maybe they are not that authentic and passionate about their art in the first place. 7/10 isn't even a bad score anyways and I'm sure this won't affect how she feels about the album.

How current Raye and that best new artist grammy winner are celebrated as anything else but mall music makers along the lines of Corinne Bailey Raye or whatever her name was and Duffy and all that other mid-2000s pseudo-"real music"-crap is BEYOND me. she just might be better than Raye, it's true that I've never taken a deep dive into her discography. I just remember being alive in like, what, 2009 and her music was a "radio parasite" in germany, always playing on boomer stations as a commute soundtrack lmao
