Why are you breaking heels to hand me WPs seconds after posting literal facts? Since when are facts considered flamebait? I'm asking genuinely before wasting anyone's time with a help request @supaspaz

In case you’ve never read it, here is a very helpful rundown of the rules and guidelines for the forum: https://atrl.net/rules/

When you break those rules (for example, by repeatedly posting off-topic and flamebait comments in a thread, like you did), you can get warned.

When did our members get so soft? Like, if you want to get your kiis from shady drags, go ahead, but then don’t come crying every time you get warned for breaking the rules. It’s got to be one or the other.

Not a mod and didn't look up the specific comment, but the rules define flamebait as 'posts meant to provoke or escalate arguments'. Doesn't seem to me like it matters whether that's done with facts or opinions?

And being so bad at it too. Like the best flamebait is the kind that is so subtle it doesn't even warrant a warning.

I posted in the thread. It quickly devolved into an off-topic, flamebait mess. Since we can’t do thread bans anymore, my best option was to close it.

Fair enough but kiii at individual shady comments grounded in truth becoming a more important priority over whole ass flamebait threads grounded in intentional misinformation lmao

Someone reported your post. That's the only reason it was brought to our attention. Trust me, none of us is going "Let me see what Aden is posting today so I can warn it."

I don't get why this thread was closed but not the Opalite one. It was as messy with people calling Taylor MAGA.

What do you want me to do? I started getting reports from the thread and I was dealing with those. When it became clear no productive discussion would happen, I closed it. I’m not seeing what I did wrong!

OP of a thread matters and the OP of that thread was just stroking the flames as a walking contradiction

I don’t know what that thread is, so I can’t speak to why it was handled any particular way. But if people are making off-topic, flamebait posts about Taylor being MAGA, the report option is available.

fffff didn't you literally just lament about bad flamebait?

Whatever, I'll take the points. At least the users can explain how I broke the rules more professionally than the mods can.

opalite thread = actual news

gaga thread = "she may or may not at some point have personally followed this account that may or may not have been this name and user at the time, maybe, I think!" i.e. twitter flamebait

Look, I think there could be legitimate news in Gag following Melania Trump, but that thread was just a war zone.

it could be legitimate news with a legitimate source and investigation, but that's not at all what that OP presented or intended to source..
