Going "off-script" and triggering NPCs. Your experiences?

Featured Replies

So this is all in light-hearted fun as many people on here seem to always miss. I'm prefacing by saying first and foremost that using the word NPC isn't to demain any other human beings & self- grandeurize. Nobody actually thinks that other humans are furniture, at least nobody writing the OP. So let's just keep that in mind when going through this thread, shall we?

Ok, so, do you ever find yourself saying the "wrong" word, or with the "wrong" cadence, or even do something as simple as wearing a presentable and on trend outfit, but you paired your top with a slightly off pants style wise, so you get leers, daggers & mean mugs for the rest of the day onwards? Does it ever feel like a small slip-up in your diction or style seems to change the course of your relationship with some weird people out here (aka NPCS)? Share your NPC glitch experiences !

I've tried this before y'all. I'd be at the mall and my jacket is a little unzipped and it seems as though I get DAGGERS and evil eye galore but then I zip it all the way up & suddenly everyone is calm around me & no one bats an eye. This thing is...I don't even....WHATEVER priceless

No, I like nerd lingosuburban

on dating apps i do it all the time

having a convo with me on hinge will give u whiplash . i don't put up with the 'hey how are you' 'nice what you doing' 'cool what do you do for work' line of convo . i ask men when the last time they cried was and why , or something like that .

easy way to weed out the uninteresting ones bc the boring ones tend to just act offended that you've gone off script . sorry Todd but ive had the exact same convo you wanted to have , 1000+ times this year , and im over it !

if a guy has dead chat too i send them this survey that i fill out on my end a day or 2 after its death :

"This chat has DIED ☠️🏴‍☠️

Feedback Survey:

Unfortunately this chat hit a wall. I have put a cross next to every reason applicable below:

[ ] Low effort convo

[ ] Creepy/invasive/odd

[ ] Tedious/mind-numbingly uninteresting

[ ] Incompatible"

just so they know that they are the problem

I don't really concern myself with what other people think

Just live. Do, and be, whatever you want cm

all of you guys trashing the OP is kind of providing the EXACT situation that OP was describing … if you really think about it .. we got a lot of NPCs in this thread ..

Alternative title: Have you ever been so f*cking annoying that normal people got weirded out?

calling your fellow humans NPC is such a turn off… peak narcissistic behavior

The irony of calling real people "NPC" is that you're just repeating a script from the internet. Absolutely no personality foxaylove2

+ it's a sign of a strange main character syndrome and clearly indicates lack of intelligence!

Calling another human being an NPC is dehumanizing and disturbing behavior, it makes me instantly know that the person doing it does not even have the most basic level of empathy.

Of course you're only quoting me cm

I'm either really quiet, which weirds people out, or I'm super talkative and say the wrong thing, which also weirds people out. I've just accepted my quirkiness

The way I read it is people who are just on autopilot all the time. something generally seems off with them. Almost like they don't have human attributes at all. No thought in their head. I don't know how to articulate it any better.

Can you read? I said you only quoted me and not "you were the only person to quote me"
