I think Gaga released Disease because of Halloween/to reconnect with her fanbase with a really dark and edgy pop song.

I could have seen GoE getting a better peak tbh due to fan base hype and it being very homo'd but disease was indeed the best choice. They learnt to pick track 1 as the lead which underpins the streams (heading toward 400m in under 3 years despite not being a hit and not being a ballad). Ultimately fans loved it.

I'm glad they chose disease… I do wonder if they were gonna pick SoaM? The album tracks are all 'funky' but TDD flopped. I wonder if Shape of a Woman can end the era with a mini hit and also a hit for the funky side of mayhem.

As much as I love Disease, I still think it would've been a GAG to have never heard it before when the album dropped and it being the opening the track

I stumbled across a super interesting thing on X. The famous Aviddiva, mostly known for his official remix videos for Madonna and other artists, and also editorial work on music videos, commercials and movies (which I was not aware of), updated his website some time ago.

While it's also interesting that he is the original source of the Born This Way alternate music video (remix), which leaked 4-5 years ago (apparently he got scammed by a fan, who then proceeded to leak it), he has a shelved Free Woman remix video from 2021 called "FREE WOMAN AVIDDIVA REMIX: THE RAGE OF ART"

It's behind a password on his website. Based from his last reel I could imagine it's just a compilation of previous Gaga videos (he even has a HD snippet of DWUW video in his reel), but if anyone has more information on what is this video exactly, would be greatly appreciated.

Y'all have to drop that theory 😭 in no world was DWAS ever made for Joker/Harlequin. It was very obviously Bruno's song to begin with that Gaga hopped on (pretty sure this has been confirmed), and somehow it ended up being on Gaga's album. Honestly, it was probably due to the fact Bruno's album was nowhere near finished back in 2024. They didn't want the song to be an orphan and Gaga was finishing Mayhem; it just happened to be great timing on Gaga's part.

If anything, the only way this song relates to Joker era (other than the title) is that it was released as pre-damage control because they knew Joker was going to flop, and they knew they Joker flopping would overshadow the real start of the LG7 era (which it lowkey did - look at Disease).
