TDD is kinda the Stupid Love of the Mayhem era.

It's okay, but lowkey childish and annoying hook, and to make matters worse, unlike Stupid Love, it's like significantly worse than like 90% of Mayhem, I feel no need to go back to it nowadays. The music video is a huge letdown, especially from a collaboration between Gaga and Tim Burton, like what a waste. And the attempt to have a viral dance trend felt forced and fell flat, as everyone could see from a mile away, except the people involved in this.

To get that after Abracadabra, aka the gag of the decade, was definitely a choice. But it's not like it's embarrassing or anything, just unremarkable.

I just hope the TDWP song is an actual serve.

Omg I was literally just thinking this. Both TDD and Stupid Love feel basic in a similar way, and like they were made to be mass-appealing. I don't think either are terrible or anything; I wanted her to have a hit in TDD. But yeah, I hope (& believe) she'll make more ambitious & experimental pop music with whatever comes next

You guys never learn. She always plays it safe and gives her most basic and simplest songs to any partnership. She gave Hold My Hand to Paramount, Stupid Love to Apple, The Dead Dance to Netflix. She always associates these opportunities with "I need to do something with wider reach", she is not going to give away an Abracadabra or Bloody Mary for TDWP2.

You might have a point. She's really on a mission to squander the hype Mayhem generated like when she released Stupid Love post ASIB.

I still remember the twitter poll with Sexxx Dreams winning it, her announcing it as the second single and then radio silence until suddenly Venus appeared and vanished in the span of one week.

I will give Gaga the benefit of the doubt on TDWP2. She's made near-perfect career decisions the last few years, so I have no reason to doubt her now.

What made ARTPOP era so tragic was that it didn't need to be a mess. Sexxx Dreams, Applause, MANiCURE, etc were all there as hit potential. It just turned into one mistake after another in addition to management issues. Thank GodGa she pulled through and found herself again, and didn't let Troy destroy her career

ARTPOP era wasn't well executed but it was non-stop fun, even if at the cost of her physical integrity. I still remember the post of that one little monster suggesting that if she'd kill herself she could solve the PR nightmare, go out as a legend and Born This Way would get a nice cute boost. I also remember when another monster tried to push that girl in the wheelchair. And when they leaked Brooklyn Nights and laughed directly at Gaga's face. EVERYONE was mental.

Agrihd, R&B needs to be next but it's not gonna happen. Rock it is. Thing is, Act III is right around the corner and if it does end up being rock-influenced, Hivesteins will claim Gar is after Beyanka's nachos and we're not going to hear the end of it.
