I totally see Gaga's thought process with the Mayhem (standard) sequencing. I see the album in 4 clusters of 3:

Disease -> GOE: the signature "Gaga" electronic pop songs

*separated by PC

VIY -> Zombieboy: Funk inspired pop songs

*the high energy, party-like first half ends and the more mature, calmer second half begins

LoveDrug -> DCT: the midtempo songs

*separated by SOAM

The Beast -> DWAS: the ballads

She was probably deciding between PC/CSTH & SOAM/KFL to represent those distinct sounds/transition points and went with the formers.

I do think the 17 track version is more complete narrative wise and a fun listen.

At the same time, I'm not opposed to LG8 being shorter. It's good we got a long album after a 5 year wait, but I'm down for a 10-13 track and 40-50 minute album next time. It would be concise and leave no room for filler. That's also what helped TFM's reputation.

it's just such an obvious non-hit I don't understand the thought proccess, it's a bit frustrating to see Gaga put forward her mid songs while leaving absolute smashes in the back burner (aka half of Mayhem)

hope the video eats and looking forward to hearing the other songs though

I was expecting to bathe in Requeef's glory by now. It's been a devastating blow to my post-MAYSUS era mental wellbeing to be without it.

i still believe runway will be have decent numbers after the movie is out

I mean, yeah, which is why I'm kinda divided. On one hand, she's doing extra stuff when most of us thought she was taking a break, and it's pop music, and I'm excited to listen to the other songs. On the other hand, I can't help but feel a bit annoyed at the wasted potential on Mayhem for us to get TDD, which was mid, with a very weak music video, and now this next single is a song that is just okay, and in which Gaga's presence is very muted.

Abracadabra's drop was one of Gaga's best drops in her career. Born This Way is her biggest, most eventful with all the hype, then the reset Bad Romance caused and then Abracadabra.

Abracadabra drop into Mayhem drop into Coachella performance were absolutely the peak of my stan career and it's not even close.

What do you mean? She's the lead. She's playing Meryl Streep. You didn't recognize her cause she's doing method acting

I loved Mayhem, but I don't think anything will ever top BTW era for me as a stan, although ASIB and Mayhem are definitely also highlights.
