No, the boyfriend is not asking for an open relationship. But he was in an open relationship before and defends the idea of an open relationship, because adults can choose whatever works for them. And the boyfriend is right imo.

The boyfriend "defending" the idea of an open relationship is very triggering for the OP.

You're extremely insecure and, I'm sorry to say, it must be tiring for your boyfriend. He broke up with his previous bf because he didn't want an open relationship, yet you're worried because he defends the concept of it?

Genuinely, you need to work on yourself and the trust issues you have. It's no way to live and enjoy life.

I'm afraid that you're just lacking a big part of a relationship which is TRUST :coffee2: i'm sure it'll be the best for both of you if you just go on and trust his word instead of going on paranoid rants on Absolute Total Request Live Dot Net... :katie:

the boyfriend IS right. but OP is overly paranoid in this situation. his mind is wandering to bad thoughts. last time he posted, he said the BF was moving away, so that must make the insecurity worse because he's not able to be with him at all times, so there's nothing to allay his restless mind.

defending open relationships isn't a crime. if he is showing signs of actually pursuing  another relationship then that would be understandable, but there's no reason to be so paranoid.

sorry to OP but i don't think this will work. because the boyfriend won't be able to do anything to get OP to feel secure.

Sis ignore the haters and continue to get your venting out on here as needed. :heart2: We're here for you.

I defend them too, but I would never get into one myself because it's not for me.

and this triggers some insecurity?
