Normally when a MPG drops a single from their album, it's supposed to be a fun, upbeat, and super commercial and ready for radio/streaming/sales song. Like an undeniable catchy and anthemic bop. However, which MPGs decided to flip the script and take a risk and release a really catchy but really vulnerable and sad single?

It's gotta be Britney's Everytime, the person asking her unconscious body for an autograph always gets me

 

A lot of people think this song is sad (but love it)

there really isnt't a girl song that makes me feel emotion or sadness   but if its my boys i'd ugly cry to them

Back when Ariana was teasing NTLTC insiders said fans who heard the song during a secret listening session started crying, when she dropped the song I kii'd because to me it was just a cute uptempo song

 

But now, years later, I kinda get it, but lowkey I feel this way about the entire Sweetener album, it's such a depressing album disguised as some healing, love, light, laugh project
