Why has this never happened ? These two vocal powerhouses are friends, have both stated they would like to work together yet Mariah has never appeared on any one of Bey's multiple projects in recent years.

I don't think they are that cool anymore. Mariah responded to a Beyonce comparison few years and made a remark that she agrees that bey is a good performer but that's where it stops. It wasn't exactly complimentary. Bey didn't mention her name in vogue remix and she went as far as Lizzo, felt like a deliberate omission to me.

Mariah Carey is a pop royalty, a true icon in the music industry. She's known for uplifting and mentoring young artists, giving them a platform to shine. However, she's fiercely protective of her spotlight and won't stand for anyone trying to steal her thunder or upstage her.

 

Also, I suspect she harbors some resentment about the disparity in Grammy Awards between her and Beyoncé. It's hard to ignore the sting when you consider Mariah's incredible track record. It feels like something's off, almost unfair, that Beyoncé has racked up so many Grammys while Mariah, with her unmatched chart dominance and vocal prowess, has only a handful in comparison. Beyoncé's achievements are impressive, but Mariah's massive success and Billboard Hot 100 number-ones are on a level Beyoncé can't touch.

That's quite literally not what she said. She's praised Beyoncé 8 million times 

The only pop girls she has worked with are Shakira & Gaga and she was just sucking the life force out of them since they were at their peak. 

Mariah would have been perfect for Cowboy Carter though, given her foray into country in other years. 

 

I thought their voices would clash but I realise if Whitney could blend with Mariah in their song. Also the Christmas album had different ranges blending with Mariah, then it's weird why they have never had a song together. 

 

I do take note that Beyonce rarely has her albums or songs feature legends outright singing apart from Grace Jones, it's more of who is almost huge but hot at the moment. Gaga was a major rarity for Beyonce as she was super huge. Rihanna and Taylor Swift that seems to be never happening anytime. 

 

Which points to a future album maybe with legends or vocal powerhouses, more adult contemporary sounding one. Or her NDA's, producer conditions or legal terms and conditions, create difficulties signing legends. As they also have their specifications in how they want a song structured and produced. We shall never know, Beyonce always knows best with her vision.

They asked Beyonce to do Telephone, which she originally didn't want to do…. The producer discusses this on video 

 

Also, Beyonce had just put out IA…SF, she was also very popular and had been for a decade at that point

these are my 2 a tier favs and I don't think a collab in *any* era would be that great, their sensibilities and artistic processes are so different

Because Beyoncé would out sing Mariah and she can't have that.
