The weird thing is that she's got several great variants for this very album  

I personally love the cover it fits the title

this is exactly it! I actually love the pic and it would make a great magazine cover or something but it has NOTHING to do with the vision/aesthetic of the other covers which are fairly cohesive so far.
it's making me worried that the album itself isn't gonna be as cohesive as i was hoping

And if this was shot along with her IG Pfp…it's def 80s vibes.  Just not what people expected.  

 

SN: Doja has never been the type use controversy (beefs, etc) to sell her records…her controversy is chaos  So this actually has helped bring attention to the album…so, ngl…I'm happy she did it for that reason if nothing else.

the importance of color grading is insane. this would've looked SOOOO beautiful.

I don't hate the cover itself but I really don't see how it connects in any way with the visual direction this album has had lol it feels So random

THIS is what everyone is up in arms about? The cover is fine, there are much worse out there lol. It could use some tweaks but it's fine. This is why artists hate ya'll now btw, outraged over anything and everything.

I never understand people being so defensive over critisism? We are on a forum where we discuss these things, obviously no one is outraged, we just don't like the cover??

The cover is great, tf u guys are u talking about. Color grading might well be better but it's ok.

But it's not only in this forum, you bullied her in her social media to the point of typing a tweet complaining about you.

 

I get that the Scarlet cover was a mess and a half, but this is so professional a photo with a nice composition and great light. 

The cover is pretty and there's no connection with anything she's released from the album and that's very annoying. It's not French, it's not 80s, etc.

It's annoying because she's a visual artist and yet she always manages to f*** things up with her album covers. Scarlet could have been amazing with her bloody figure, Vie could have been incredible with a p*rn-chic 80s cover, but no… 

 

Anyway, the album will still be great I'm sure but it's sad because a cover art always creates some cohesion around a project.
