Does Dua have it in her to give us a slutty era like Tate McRae's So Close to What?

 

It just doesn't sound like her 

Hopefully not music-wise 

as much as i like tate mcrae, literally all her songs would sound better if someone else was singing them. so yes.

I don't even dislike Tat, but what is there to pull off?

this sound is not something dua should explore. it fits tate but for dua it would just sound tired af.

 

i'd like for dua to explore more mature versions of "Be the One" inspired songs. 

i don't think she has the range

No, and I say this as a love, they're not in the same pop niche 

I mean, i would love for her to release some ballads like "Greenlight" or "Nostalgia" (cuz she's lacking in that department) but other than that, no, the sound doesn't suit her

in the USA SC2W debuted with 170k while RO did 83k so more than double, also scored more number ones on the albums chart overall than Dua. About the album, RO has many great songs, I think it deserved more recognition but the promotion was not good and the label let RO bleed out after it was released, no singles, no mvs, nothing.

Key word but Spotify numbers don't lie. Dua is big in the uk europe and latam and Tate is a lot bigger in the US. Still Dua is bigger. 

Both albums were horibly mismanaged tho. Dua doing less in the US is not about her sound or image it's about her horrible management. The same can be said about Tate 

Dua needs to pull off a folkmore or Good Riddance instead, she needs ballads like oxygen.

No. Dua excels in European dance music. In fact, her next album should be inspired by the Berlin rave scene.

musically she already made an album called Radical Optimism which was as generic as SCTW 

Of course, there's nothing special about that album, if Dua wanted to release an album inspired by the 00's her inspirations would be "The Dutchess" and one of her favorite albums, "Loose".

She needs to aim for 90s-2000s trip hop vibes, not the slutty timbaland vibe (as much as I love it). I was hoping that Radical Optimism would sound like what some of Addison's debut ended up sounding like (mostly Headphones On type of sound)
