I was so put off by Bread Butter Tea Sugar at the beginning of the song but the more it went on, the more it became a serve

White Horses

so it's probably my least favorite album from them on first listen but it's great nonetheless. some songs like Passenger Seat, Play It Out and Safe in the World need more time to grow on me.

but the album itself ends on such a high note with the euphoric double punch of White Horses & The Sofa

this album is good but not a proper follow-up after Grammy WeekendGrammy Weekend fed us too well I fear

I get why it's proving divisive, because it definitely sounds like they completely immersed themselves in this 70s soft rock sound with little ties to their previous sound.

 

But I really love this record, it doesn't overstay its welcome and the songwriting is really well done. Ellie's vocal performances are very elegant.

I'm gonna give this a first listen rn! I just did a first listen of the new Tops album (why can't I find a thread for it!!) and it was super good so I have high hopes for this one too 

I love Just Two Girls but why does the melody really remind me of that My Angel Lina Morgana song 

Bread Butter Tea Sugar might be their best song to date helloooo 

I like the way she chain-smokes incessantly
Tiny epiphanies when she's drinking with me
She likes the way I over-hypothesize
The people in the room

Then I undress my every thought
