Take this with a grain of salt if you must, but I have a feeling her management team/Capitol Records are beginning to test the waters. They are looking to see how the Lifetimes Tour is received, and based off of that, I can see Katy entering KP7/a more mature aesthetic and sound in early 2026. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if she is in the early stages of recording her acoustic/stripped back album. After all, she has said multiple times since ~2013 that she has always wanted to make a dance and an acoustic record. Considering 143 was her dance one and it was so poorly received, executives may be hoping this tour is nostalgic for more casual Katy fans/the GP and to launch a reset of sorts not too long after the tour has concluded that will possibly assist in balancing her public image.

It happened anyway, it's what matters since you have talked on "ever". Idk how you define an AOTY, but an album with multiple #1s (especially with the most #1s) and an undeniable impact on music/pop culture (even if that only for the year) has all cards to get that definition.
