I’m torn.

 

Carole King to Taylor is more realistic to me. Stevie was/is not good a crafting pop hits. She’s more poetry to music that’s not radio friendly. Taylor is much better forming words into a crafted song.

 

However. Stevie/Taylor have very similar themes in their music. I do see a big influence on Taylor. That’s why I’m a Taylor fan. I’m 100% lyrics over music. Stevie is the best lyricist in my opinion, even though it’s more avant garde  
 

“Lady” by Stevie is a song like “Nothing New”.

Safe & Sound is such a great song but I literally can’t listen to it cause of her voice, it sounds so bad
