I think Kesha really wanted to release the album on Independence Day for the symbolic value and Crush really wanted to push the "Kesha summer" theme.

 

This is probably why they decided to end up scheduling the tour in July as well because it's right in the middle of summer and that led to the lack of promo opportunities we have now (that's my personal theory).

I agree I think some things have been mismanaged but I'm just so dang happy for her and that she's still having her moment and you can feel how happy/excited she is. This is by far the most excited she's been for an era since Animal and it's beautiful to see.

 

Plus the world is literally her oyster and she can release as much music as she wants to, plus hopefully some of her old music again too. Not everything's going to stick, and I hope she has a few more big moments like joyride (and I'm sure if she releases enough music she will) but there's so much to come I'm sure

listened to the album twice today and I think outside of Red Flag, Too Hard might just be the best thing here? Sophisticated, breezy and it just exudes warmth. love it

I'm afraid she's going to get a lot of complaints because it has not gatefold or liner notes/lyrics … and it's not a cheap vinyl.

If they are on the shelf during tracking week she obviously stands much more of a chance for ~20K 

I think they must be available in stores. Crush is doing their hardest to make everything right for this era. They managed to release six different variants and multiple signed vinyl versions, so I think they want to secure physicals in stores as well (especially knowing RCA did the opposite for Gag Order and we saw how much that hurt its performance).

 

OT: Vinyl and CD both sold out on Walmart, needs to be restocked.

I'm choosing to be delusional for a couple of more days and convince myself that other variants have different packaging when I know for a fact this does not make sense.

I just hope they stack it on the album on Spotify for better tracking week #'s. It's blowing up a bit on TikTok and doing better than JOYRIDE #'s wise.
