I'm late, but here's my High Road top 5 :kitty:

Resentment

Cowboy Blues

Honey

My Own Dance

Potato Song

Overall a bit of a mess of an album (Shadow sounds like a weak leftover from Rainbow, BFF is very cringy, Little Bit Of Love aged like milk, Chasing Thunder and Summer are very generic folk-pop songs and Father Daughter Dance is lyrically song, but hurts my ears lol), but it does reflect how much Kesha wanted to bring back some of her joy, in a forced way that unfortunately didn't really work 100%.

But it's what makes her discography interesting. Some people keep bitching about a ton of her themes involving what happened with Luke, but isn't an artist supposed to show us a side of them, or is it only club bops for gays? And thematically her albums from Rainbow until this one aren't even alike. Rainbow is clearly about the bad things that happened in order for her to sue Luke, and Gag Order about the consequences of the legal battle.

In a way, it's how one of my other favorite popstars Janet did back in the day with her albums mirroring her life (Control about her finding her own voice and control of her career, RN184 addressing the tragedies she kept watching on the news and ignoring her label's request to keep making songs about her family, janet. with her embracing her sexuality and experimenting with different genres, TVR addressing her depression and self-worth, All For You about the freedom of being single and having fun), but in a way more chaotic Kesha way lol

as much as I adore Bop It, I had a feeling it wouldn't be released or at least not on the standard the day it leaked. too good to be true in a way but she's also not one to put leaked songs onto her projects TYPICALLY! Hate Me Harder was an interesting glaring exception in how she changed the arrangement but the song was still exactly as good as the leaked though it had a totally different vibe

Bop It is a major bop but I trust her intuition in that she always DOES end up keeping some great cheesy bops on her albums. I remember being so sad that Pageantry (still a fav of mine!) wasn't included on Gag Order, and that Happy wasn't a reworked version of Happiness, but in hindsight neither song would make a ton of sense on that album at the end of the day :michael: I trust her. and who knows! it might end up as a bonus track or a standalone at some point!

The fact that it took Kesha to become an independent artist to have multiple vinyl versions available and shipping on release for once tells you everything you need to know about RCA.

You SPILLED

@Alaska. comparing Kesha to Janet let's hope her All For You is coming :jonny5:

Better wait a few weeks to see if we're in Kesha's post-Superbowl era

She's 3/3 for me, I don't understand the Delusional hate, it is a fun bop!

I hate the name and the cover :rip: I'll be buying this though because I want to support her as I am glad she's independent and love her. I just really hate the title so much :deadbanana2:

The Bend Over Baby Blue Amazon Exclusive Vinyl is #3 on US Amazon CD & Vinyl pre-orders currently!

My high road top 5 -

1. father daughter dance

2. chasing thunder

3. summer

4. raising hell

5. Little bit of love

Re: Delusional. It's not that the song is bad. It's that it should not have been a single. I can see why she wanted to test the waters with a different sound from Joyride but… it should have been something else. Clearly she loves the song a lot so she did it for herself. That much I support :heart2:

I couldn't agree more, I was literally thinking this earlier today. I have no doubt Delusional will be a great album track and fit into the whole project just fine.

It reminds me of how people were confused by Eat The Acid and then realized that it perfectly fits onto Gag Order when you play the whole thing from start to finish.

Unfortunately, I have seen it many times that "wrong" singles get undeserved amounts of hate for ruining an artist's momentum, even though the tracks themselves are perfectly fine as album tracks.

I don't even think Delusional ruined her momentum though. The horrid cover art is why people associate disdain with it I think.

Yeah, which makes it even more unfair. You can be mad at Kesha for picking such a cover, but it's not the song's fault :rip:.

nooo i deleted my amazon account cos **** corporate billionaires :jonny5:

Almost 10M views. So many vids/tweets about why her albums have a pink dot. Also driving traffic to her artist page because people are confused.

genius marketing move

I hope the next single is Boy Crazy because I CANNOT wait until July to hear it. She literally teased her best song in October and is gonna make us wait 9 months :jonnycat: kesha you are the DEVIL

Delusional isn't a bad song by any means, but it lacks that Kesha spark that the majority of her catalogue has. It could have been written/released by pretty much anyone. One of the reasons I love Kesha is how her personality shines through in her music. It doesn't really shine in Delusional, IMO.

Lemme just add my High Road top 5 real quick:

1. Resentment

2. Father Daughter Dance

3. Honey

4. Cowboy Blues

5. Summer

I hated Bop It at first but now I'm kinda seeing the vision… throw a Promiscuous sample on it for a deluxe smasher
