Thanks for posting this, I like seeing unedited album covers!

It's not the period that's bothering me, though. I think it's a super cool visual distinguisher for this era. I just don't wanna look at lips when I listen to an album, I'd rather have some sort of scene or a clear view of the artist. I see the appeal and message behind having her lips on the cover of her first independent album (especially after Gag Order where her entire face was hidden behind a plastic bag), but purely visually it's so mehhh

I like this too but it needs the bright pink dot imo.. it adds so much to the cover and matches perfectly.

 

Side note, I really want to know why they felt the need to edit out her cupids bow, her chin, the shadow under her lower lip, any texture around her mouth area.. it looks so strange with the same single skin-tone shade around her entire mouth and throws me off if I look too closely.

agreed, i like the cover better with the pink dot.

 

very confused about why they edited her face like that, though. when i look more and more at it, it gives uncanny valley vibes.

She's never come to New Zealand.  But maybe she'll come to Australia and I could shlep over there. Kesha is one of the last of my MUST SEE artists from when I was a teenager. 

"Cum for me clear" is corny and hot pink is way better but I ordered that vinyl since it's signed

Is it normal for indie artists to get pre-orders from bigger retailers? I know she has her distribution deal with Warner, but I think even Omar Apollo and Jojo didn't have their albums in stores for their previous albums under Warner's distribution deals, not sure what happened with online pre-orders though.

I honestly don't know how it works at all in a case like this which is why I was wondering about this.

 

I figured something like what you said and it makes sense, but it's still unfortunate imo.

Megan Thee Stallion had hers in Urban Outfitters and Target and is similarly independent with a Warner music distribution deal. But I think this differs per deal.

Well, there were reports that it wasn't widely available to pick up in stores, but it's available online on Target and Walmart.

 

This isn't available to pre-order online.

It's expected, even in Europe it's not available at big music retailers like Fnac in France but at only at small indie stores, Urban Outfitters and Amazon.

It makes sense though. It's an independent release not under a major label. 

does anyone know how much stock there is for the vinyls & cds on her website? they're all still available and i thought they would've sold out by now.

I don't think regular vinyls and CDs selling out after a couple of days is a thing? Maybe for Taylor Swift .

 

The signed ones definitely and those got restocked once already in the US store.
