She 100% needs to work with producers like AG, OnlyFire, Dylan Brady. A mix of Brat x 100 Gecs x Bree Runway x Tommy Cash influenced album with the Boycrazy/Red Flag/Attention sound on steroids will do wonders for her.

There's a reason that ATTENTION! and BOY CRAZY. have received the most praise across the board. 

 

I would love for her to crank up the freak factor 1000% and go full 100gecs but idk if we'll ever see that happen.

I don't know if she has that kind of creativity in her either. Although I never thought she'd do Boycrazy and Attention in 2025. Joyride was also a great direction but the corny lyrics kill any cool factor that song has. Who knows though, in theory her being indie could inspire her to go freaky, there's no commercial expectations. It's all a matter of her being inspired and actually pulling it off.

I don't think it's a problem of creativity, tbh. Rainbow is an exceptionally creative album full of unique ideas. Boots is kinda proto-country hyperpop that is as authentic as it is campy. With the right collaborators, she could be inspired and pull it off like you said. 

 

This is why @bearman's point of her having some to help her edit and alchemize her ideas is important. Cringy lyrics are kinda what makes Kesha Kesha lol and why most of us fell in love with her, but if she had someone she trusts pushing her out of her comfort zone it could work.

Another direction she could possibly go for alternatively to hardstyle/hyperpop is horror-esque dark pop a la Cannibal with a little bit of the shocker sleazy rock she loves. A little bit of early The Pretty Reckless, a little Yeah Yeah Yeahs, a little Via Gra Boys with the Kesha essence, it'd be pretty sick.

This album is great omg she really came through with quality and catchy music  I need some more time to decide my faves but overall, an enjoyable album and a step in the right direction for her

The creativity is there if she's focused. I still insist that the sound of Freedom is so fresh. The Prince/Janelle Monet funk sound mixed with her pop songwriting and her anthemic chorus is so interesting. It's sexy, it's fun, it's taping into Kesha but make it adult and grown-up. She could have built an album on that sound and it even would have fit with the art direction she had.

i would love for kesha's new project to be pop but a concept album with deeper meaning. i appreciate her returning back to her roots, but i think period falls flat because any generic pop singer could have written some of these lyrics/songs. we barely learn anything new about kesha, which is unfortunate, because what makes kesha interesting to me is her confessional songwriting and emotional excavation. 

 

i think kesha creating an album like melodrama would absolutely eat. she can merge the deep and poignant lyricism of gag order with the anthemic pop structures of her youth into a cohesive pop record with storytelling.

 

although, i am open to any genre that she wants to work with. for instance, i would love a full rock or country record! ideally, cohesiveness in narrative and genre is something i value in an album, so i would like to see more of that. i echo the sentiment that having an executive producer or a key collaborator, like she had with rubin on gag order, can really help refine her ideas.

Too Hard being the only song that increased streams on Spotify yesterday… she needs to push it ASAP!! It's begging to become a radio smasha for late summer/fall 

Overall I like the pre-releases way more than the new songs, but Red Flag is SO good

I think she was approaching that kind of relationship with Zhone, but he's still relatively inexperienced as a full-blown album producer. His work with Troye was exceptional but his work with her has been a mixed bag (see JOYRIDE vs. Delusional.) Same goes for Pink Slip. Obviously Rick Rubin is out of the question -- Gag Order was a singular experience and he's insanely expensive. 

 

It could be good for her to take the direction of Addison and work with a small, two person production team on an entire album. Drew Pearson and Stuart Crichton could be this kind of vibe for her. She trusts them and they make legitimate magic together.

I just hope for more songs with Zhone in the future at least. 

 

Also, its hilarious that Attention and YKY are from the same producer. The songs couldn't be further apart in terms of fan reaction, I guess it shows you can never judge just based off of a name.

Hot take - ETA never clicked with me - and before some of you start, it's not because I only want bopzzzzzz!!!! from her and can't appreciate "real art", I just don't think it worked as an album. Has some amazing songs nonetheless. By creativity I meant the sharp pop instinct and mindset needed for the specific sound @gettsleazy and I were talking about.

kesha and slayyyter linking up is such a wet dream, i can't believe it happened

If anything, I'd say Kesha is one of the most creative popstars, and that's why having someone to streamline her future projects would do wonders for her. Which one of her peers is taking risks with a song like Joyride close to their 40s?

I agree with fantano I fear..... this is her weakest album  LOVE FOREVER, TOO HARD, GLOW, YKY and THE ONE are all like bottom 20 in her discography
