Next time, they should manufacture more physicals. For example, both the CD and vinyl immediately sold out on Target the day the album came out and have never been restocked to this day. I do believe she missed out on quite a few sales because of that.

 

Almost 7k from streaming is also more than I expected tbh. She has the highest pure sale number in the Top 20.

Bop It, If I Was U and Good Girl are quite fun outtakes. i think she made the right choices though, as the album is consistent tonally, sonically and focused on self love. Bop It isn't the right message for Period.

I agree. I don't get why everyone is so worked up that these didn't make the tracklist. Bop It is cute at best, If I was U is DREADFUL, and Good Girl is JOYRIDE pastiche without the wow/unique factor.

Agreed but If I Was U is not dreadful. The chorus is dreadful. The verses and bridge are iconic and I hope the song gets reworked with a new chorus and released at some point.

 

And DIY sounds like a bop too. I can maybe see why it was left off the Final Cut, but it needs to be released at some point too! Surely the more songs she has on Spotify the better for her pockets no?

I'm guilty of infantilizing Katy because once upon a time I was a hardcore fan (I probably know more Katy trivia, facts, lyrics, songs than I do Kesha, my first paycheck was on her Claires collection during PRISM) and she's not all that...smart. I think its only during her interviews when she's a teen where she's saying really insightful stuff and then after that its all just being funny and quirky. She made a very stupid decision getting back with Luke and listening to all these idiotic men. I think she's had some time to reflect and might make better choices in the distant future going by the captions and stories she's been posting on IG or maybe that's just me being gullible. Not excusing anything tho. 

 

but what I also know is that we need DELUXE physicals with the GAGA collab

I think we're all taking it a bit personally on behalf of K. It's likely petty industry beef at this point and I think if the two of them sat down (and Katy apologized) they would bury the hatchet. 
 

Kesha seems like a kind and forgiving person and I think she empathizes with the trauma Katy also went through in her journey through the industry. You have to remember that they've known each other since like 2006/2007. History binds people and allows space for grace and atonement.

 

It's also just not worth it to keep overshadowing her output with this petty stan war. She's free and happy and bringing up Katy constantly during this album cycle is likely causing more harm than good (I'm totally guilty of this lol)

Also to clarify I think she has every right to be mad at Katy for trying to replatform her abuser. The "response" (literally two vague subtweets) is MORE than generous. If I were in her position I don't think I'd be as kind.

it's actually remarkable she got a top 20 INDEPENDENT album that's holding steady when her prior releases were such flops

 

not many women can do what she has done, and I don't know of other woman that's been able to boost their sales this considerably after becoming independent.
