It use to rival Ain't It Fun for me in the joyous department the year it came out

She never performed the track on any major TV shows back when live promo still had effect on iTunes sales except for a small Graham Norton appearance, and she had an amazing opportunity to do so at the Brit Awards where she won Best Female Solo Artist. The Brits have had huge commercial impact on album and song placements, but Ellie fumbled it completely by performing Burn there which was already almost a year old at that point instead of her active single Goodness Gracious which was literally released in the UK that week. I'm sure Goodness Gracious would've hit the top ten, maybe even the top five, had she performed it.

 

They also skipped the US release for Goodness Gracious in favour of Beating Heart from the Divergent soundtrack and that flopped, whilst Goodness Gracious would've been an easy radio smash for her. Just bad decisions all around.

oh very interesting. but tbh goodness gracious is kinda niche and very european sounding in the sense that it's very synthpoppy
