Black Pink are more popular across their whole ww careers than anybody who has been named NGG, I just never saw them being pushed with the title NGG like others, or as being particularly more popular in Korea than elsewhere. Blinks will read obsessive hate into the most random posts of mine when the vast, vast majority of my negative posts about black pink are trolling where the joke is on me. Ppl wonder why I have such an issue with blinks and then one of y'all will try to jump me for agreeing (with @Pluto6, who is also a Blink btw) that Twice has the NGG title. BP definitely could have been a lot bigger but aespa is living proof that the "if BP released 4 times a year they would have kept selling just as much" argument is a straight up lie. aespa started out hardly ever releasing like BP and had gigantic sales, but when they started releasing more often their average sales were halved. Specifically for Korean popularity, aespa is peaking just as big as bp so it's actually an accurate comparison. Twice didn't reach the same levels as bp in the west but their Korean and Japanese peak was SNSD level.

What do you mean that TWICE not having actual growth? People literally used to drag TWICE for being "local" just for them to now being the 2nd biggest Kpop gg of all time globally only behind BP?

TWICE domestic peak = 2016-2018 - (the biggest peak for a gg in Korea)

 

TWICE global peak - 2019-2023

 

2024-present - TWICE have stagnated, but are are still the among top 5 ggs today

thing is I'm not in Korea so the only metric we can kinda agree on as "factual" are sales and somewhat social media engagement 

with aespa I think it's the china ban that's slowed down their growth, far from a stan but with supernova I'm pretty sure they could've reached their biggest first week if it wasn't for that ban, oh well

to me the fact that aespa Ive (not sure about nj) sold 1M before twice the best selling gg hmm idk 

and when they did sold 1M no songs charted on melon hmmm idk

I love Crush idk what to tell you, I could enjoy it better without the pots and pans in the chorus but the song is a 10/10 after the bridge. I will say most companies fail terribly when choosing titles most of the times. W1 management is ****, but I do not think they fumbled the bag with ZB1 musically that much.
