The last time I had expectations for BLACKPINK's releases (in terms of date and even quantity) was in 2017 when YG said they would comeback in the beginning of 2018, but dropped iKON's Return in january instead and Square Up was only released 5 months later.

We still had Why So Lonely though, and APink. But I get what you mean, it really felt like it was the end of that era.

Gens are only "fast" now because the fans force it. aespa, IVE and Le Sserafim are still dominating the charts and the k-pop conversation there's no reason for a "5th gen" to exist.

ILLIT is too high on Pluto's ranking for a group that neither have good international streams (anymore), good domestic charting (anymore), nor sell well and most likely won't tour well either

To be far everyone else under them is less relevant than them… riize and tws are practically irrelevant internationally

I think RIIZE, BND and ZB1 are bigger. Even though they don't have good numbers internationally, at least there are some categories they stand out.

 

ILLIT for me is closer to TWS since only were stand outs during the debut era

This will be a more domestic focused generation than the last. Global interest in k-pop has peaked and agencies will take that note sooner or later. There's a reason why SM debuted a girl group that has more Asian/domestic appeal than the Western-friendly aespa, they know that ship has sailed.
