Korea is largely a conservative country though. If anything she's getting more support

that's not really true though. there has been as many liberal presidents as there was conservative presidents during the 6th republic and we're about to have one more liberal president winning by a landslide so… and among the 3 presidents who were impeached, 2 of them were conservatives. i think there's a difference between having rather conservative values in daily life and a party that just claim the elections are stolen by chinese people and that every chinese in korea is a spy who should be deported :rip:

karina is a STAR so it's not surprising that she's not only selling those things out but also gets the most attention… the bigger the star the bigger the target :1stplace:

That's only 640k in euro. They should release an album just to piss them off. If they sell 2 million copies they should be good. Plus all the deals they will be getting.

edit:

wait it's per member. Damn. I guess then they have to wait 4 more years then

If they take any deals without Ador's consent, they would get fined as well

No he wasn't immediately impeached and it took whipping of votes for it to occur as most of the Conservative Party didn't impeach him.

You're asking what's the issue of someone supporting a Conservative Party and that seems like a pretty big one to Koreans given it's recency.

No offense but Koreans are always ready to cancel popular female idols. Irene was attempted to be canceled for reading a feminist book in public. Be serious.

You'd think she went and personally advertised for that party. But it's because she… wore colors? And it's not even like a specific "MAGA" hat thing but colors itself? Absurd.

OOOMGG the termination fees are up to 500 million USD :deadbanana4:

no wonder they're not paying

well she's slowly getting that right wing icon image since right wing voters AND politicians are using her to promote the party :rip:

but right now i think people are more focused on the actual elections because the votes started yesterday. twitter kinda let go of her

well i guess it's a good thing there's no chance they'd win, or so i've heard. imagine it was close and they won because she "endorsed" them :rip:

maybe she will appear somewhere wearing blue

yea the support rating is overwhelmingly in favor of the candidate 1 (blue)

i think karina could be fine if she keeps a low profile for a little while but the comeback is right around the corner and some external forces are making their best to start more hate trains :skull: it's so obvious

Dumbest take in this thread. Karina has been getting hate for being liberal and pushing feminist propaganda for years now. From the books she recommends to the blue scarf she kept posting last year. After YSY's impeachment, she was getting hate for posting this look in a blue scarf, which was controversial because Karina was assumed to be supporting the Democrat Party:

I don't disagree that local context matters, but the context of her career matters, as well. You've ignored everything about her to try and grasp at a gotcha moment.

As far as the company's apology goes, I don't disagree. But an unhealthy amount of SM's male idols and staff are PPP/super conservative which is why so many of us girl group stans are always trashing them (especially SuJu). I highly doubt SM will take legal action because their higher-ups probably support PPP to some extent (just like all of the Big 4). I'm hoping the label's stocks take a hit and it teaches them a lesson.

The color red and the 2 are the only symbols for the PPP. They mention the rose because it's called the rose election. A rose is not a symbol of the PPP.

And the context of a person's entire political career and their intentions should be taken into consideration, as well. Globalization occurred hundreds of years ago, diva, and it's just ramping up. Everyone should be involved in every election because it affects all of us.

I'd be interested to see the process. Sometimes it takes them about three weeks to post pictures but sometimes it comes in a matter of hours. These photos were only a few days old so SM should have definitely stopped them before the post. They need a better PR team.

What do you mean "if?" Here's V wearing red and doing a peace sign before voting in the presidential election in 2017. Where has @Ubermensch criticized your fave for this? Maybe show female idols a little grace the way your fave was shown grace.

I have a theory that most of the higher-ups are PPP at SM which makes me hate them more. SM has gotten into numerous conservative scandals and it is usually without the artist's consent nor knowledge. The most infamous is when they put a swastika on SNSD's Genie physical album.

A terrible metaphor and a very poor attempt, sis. You're arguing over intentions, not actions. And since the artist already clarified their intentions, what argument do you have?

I genuinely wasn't aware of this and I doubt that user was either. He just can't weaponize this now without looking like a hypocrite lol.

But as for my thoughts, this really is disappointing if he did vote that way (and he probably did). But at the same time I think there's a difference in him being photographed by other people AT the booth vs. Karina CHOOSING to make that post to all of her millions of followers herself after the party's previous president tried to stage a coup. And miss me with the "showing grace" when I clearly said I don't think she's evil or anything. My point was just that you people would be treating other idols differently than you were treating her.

At the end of the day, I also don't claim to be an expert in Korean politics so I admittedly don't have a fully informed opinion on this but from a cursory search the party still held its homophobic views back in 2017 so I AM disappointed in him. All I can do is hope he has grown and changed since then, which I will choose to do.

The main difference is that none of YOU GUYS are willing to express the disappointment and move on, and are choosing to pretend like she did nothing wrong.

You guys are really doing everything to protect your own idol and turn the target on others. This picture is a picture of Tae at the airport. It has nothing to do with the election or anything.

Mys are really challenging Blinks for the worst fandom award is2g

at this point it's obvious that the law is not on the Jeans girls's side, and they obviously can't afford to buy out the contract. I said all along that I hoped they were receiving proper legal advice or else they'd be cooked, and it looks like they're cooking

they need to do some big damage control and hope that ADOR will compromise with them a bit to allow them them to get back to work while satisfying both parties, because they aren't winning this battle. In fact, the longer they drag this on, damaging their brand and missing potential earnings, the more ADOR's damages accumulate.

She already did during the last election and it was a scandal in Korea but not overseas because blinks couldn't twist it into something it wasn't (or call any My that defends her a racist for 20 pages without logging out for multiple straight days)
