2. TAG PR's CEO was replaced from Park Ji-won to Lee Jae-sang, and
3. Scooter Braun was granted stock options.

Scooter Braun received 89,571 stock options, six times more than the 15,000 shares granted to the new CEO, Lee Jae-sang. Braun had already sold Ithaca to HYBE in 2021 and served as CEO of HYBE America. Why was someone who had already cashed out granted far more stock options than a sitting CEO three years later? Suspicions have arisen that this was compensation for attacks on Min Hee-jin carried out via TAG PR. [...]

33.5 Billion Won for a Company with 1 Billion in Assets—Without Voting Rights

Further details have emerged about TAG PR, in which HYBE acquired a 51% stake on August 1, 2024. A close analysis of FSS disclosures shows that TAG PR's total assets amount to just 1 billion won. Earlier reports had estimated its assets at 10.6 billion won, but a re-examination of filings confirmed the figure to be 1 billion won. HYBE invested USD 25 million (approximately 33.5 billion won) into a company with only six employees, effectively valuing the firm at around 70 billion won.

Even more alarming, HYBE failed to secure a majority of voting rights despite acquiring a 51% stake. The purpose of acquiring 51% is typically to gain management control, yet HYBE invested 33.5 billion won without securing voting power, something virtually unheard of in a normal corporate acquisition.

As previously reported, TAG PR is notorious in Hollywood as a "reverse-viral" firm specializing in smear campaigns. According to a complaint filed with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Min Hee-jin was one of seven victims targeted by the firm's defamation campaigns. HYBE disposed of its entire stake in TAG PR by Q3 2025, just one year after acquisition. The disclosed loss was 800 million won. Based on estimates, HYBE appears to have sold a company it bought for 33.5 billion won for roughly 3.8 billion won.
