Imagine saying "nobody's singing" when SKZ has more people worldwide singing along to their songs than SNSD ever did. SNSD could only dream of having this kind of global audience, be serious

WG charted on the Hot 100 because we all got together and bought the full digital single. It was a union of fans trying to push K-pop here. You don't find it odd that they sold 17k copies in one week in the U.S. only when their highest first month sales globally was 31k before that? WG were definitely successful and helped with the wave, but acting like they were bigger than SNSD or 2NE1 here is wild.

 

I credit first gen all of the time. They're the individuals who made K-pop a force. But nobody in the West was listening to SES or MILK or HOT or GOD. The first generation was about spreading influence to Japan, South Korea and China, which they did. The second generation brought them West. How are you, someone who got into one boy group in the 4th gen, a qualified candidate to give us history lessons? 
 

Here's the most famous example of fans singing along to a K-pop song. Notice that this isn't even their own concert - it was a hostile stage for them 5 years prior and they had fans of every artist singing. Also, you misinterpreted what I said. SKZ are not SANGING. Calling them better performers as if we couldn't just hand Taeyeon a microphone to blow them out of the water is crazy.

We see it every generation that new groups move more units and have more opportunities than the last. 2nd gen has surpassed 1st gen, 3rd gen has surpassed 4th gen and 5th gen will potentially surpass 4th gen. H2H will literally have a bigger first year than both of our fourth gen faves. That's just how it works. It doesn't negate SNSD's impact - it speaks to it.
