Both ITZY and NMIXX have strong signature sounds and visions though? 

I think some Kpop stans are just trying to find a reason as to why they are both not as big as some of their 4th gen peers, and have to blame something. When in reality they are just unlucky cause their music and concepts are top tier 

 

Like sometimes, some groups are just unlucky and it has nothing to do with their output or the concept

Nmixx has definitely honed their look and sound since Fe3O4: Break but JYP are still flip flopping with Itzy's look and sound, imo. They did try and go back to the Wannabe like sound with Untouchable, but it didn't hit and now it's a bit up in the air again. I wanna say they should just go with Galactika produced music (Loco, Wannabe, Dalla Dalla) but Galactika also worked on Sneakers, so 

 

They have two of the best dancers in all of Kpop, imo. I wish they'd get another hit; they deserve it. 

I love the On The Spot vids, the choreo is clear even with the changing camera angles and the whole vibe is so cute

 

 

itzy's output got drastically worse after Wannabe and that correlates with their popularity also going down

the international fans stuck around for a few more comebacks but Sneakers, despite being a minor local hit, was the last nail in the coffin

Luck is a factor but not the main issue, especially for a big 3 group. Their A&R and concept teams suck and the songs selected are bad. All their comebacks recently have bombed.

 

Even the members themselves are aware of this. They know the music they release is not good and even complained about it to JYP's face. There's no point denying it.

WG had stronger style and a consistent sound with retro for Tell me, Nobody, Why so lonely, Be my baby. JYP music videos are still good. The music itself  and concepts aren't really top tier or diffrent tho. 

 

I'm about to drag but this stage is so pretty and she looks ethereal as well  Joy really fits this concept. As if the song knocks harder

 

New Jeans, IVE, LSRFM all back to back is still pretty iconic. I can't be mad at 4th Gen

Wendy looks amazing on these posters so far!

 

Though it's disappointing they didn't book any venue in Canada for her 1st tour, especially since her family is there.

Nmixx yes, truly the most talented 4th gen gg right now, whose music might not be for everyone but they make it work with their skills and the creative direction and identity is actually is pretty cohesive.

 

Itzy though is confusing nowadays because while their albums/minis as a whole have still that cohesive quintessential itzy sound, but for title tracks and the stuff that they use to market themselves is a bit all over the place. It's like their only consistent identity right now is that they're performers but  that's it. They're really trying everything lately and that's given us some gems like Imaginary Friend but still proper boardroom discussions need to be done to make the package stronger and impactful imo.

 

I personally think they should just focus on the solos for the time being. Yeji's solo was fantastic, and i truly think the other girls also have it in them to deliver amazing solos based on their own personalities and charm. And ironically JYP himself has pretty good ear and vision for his female solos when he's directly involved. Then meanwhile polish the future concepts and moodboards for itzy so that they can truly come back stronger and more cohesive.

As soon as I saw them confirmed to this award show, I knew they promised something big to SKZ, because no way they would go to a award show nowdays for nothing
