when I went to bed last night i didn't expect to wake up to a notification from pluto6 aka the resident noise kids stan on the kpop atrl base thread trying to downplay somi's accomplishments as a soloist like obviously itzy is subjectively bigger than her they're a gg, and that's just how things work in korea/other parts of asia soloists rarely get the same level of love lbr but as others have already pointed out somi's music has stayed consistently solid unlike itzy's discography which took a nosedive after loco

ugh there's nothing more annoying than a company stan

Aside from the stuff about ITZY which I don't really wanna get into, you're right that soloists have a hard time lately. Somi's release schedule looks pitiful, but all things considering, at least she gets somewhat consistent mini albums as well as tv work/CFs.

I'm sorry but it is kinda funny watching you girls pretend that ITZY's music is at a high when it's nowhere near true. JYP's entire creative team needs to be replaced (and they've been working on doing so this year - especially with NMIXX).

 

They were my favorite 4th gen group, but they're struggling to find versatility and they need to change up the vocal patterns to give their songs a more unique feel.

Somi gave us the two best videos of the year and "Closer" is excellent. My only problem is that you can clearly hear which parts were meant for Rose and Jennie.

 

GWBG is a step in the right direction for ITZY (and a welcome change of pace for the MV), but we still need so much more from them. Yeji deserves better.
