So will the massive success of KDH rejuvenate the dying K-pop industry in the West? Or is it the last gasp?

its not going to have any affect on actual groups numbers imo. the only reason its doing as well is because its from an animated film which is more palatable to westerners than actual groups. if it were any random group release it wouldn't have done half a well and less people would be interested

This type of statement is interesting. Is kpop considered dying just because groups aren't reaching the heights of BTS/BP?

There's always going to be a market for kpop in the west regardless if there's groups topping charts or not. Has it reached a plateau in terms of popularity? Sure, but popular groups are still going to shift albums and be able to tour, that's not going to stop anytime soon.

The west is obsessed with individuality and haven't been into the group concept since the 2000s. Even popular groups like Fifth Harmony and Little Mix failed to have long term staying power or really break out. IMO there's a limit to how far kpop can go with all the factors working against it.

them not wearing these outfits during the promotions is a crime

the overall styling is a bit of a chop this era

The way I thought Liz was Wonyoung for a moment, why is Starship obsessed with making all the girls a carbon copy of Wonyoung when all of them are already beautiful and distinctive on their own
