I used to think they were fake but Thai fans are the Brazilians of Asia. I'm in a group chat with a bunch of Thai MYs and they are insanely dedicated. They send out funds to help people buy albums and get streaming accounts and they also have been purchasing physical albums for people who can't afford them. I'm not shocked they're such excellent streamers.

I don't think SM nor JYP do. The thing is - nobody cares about Thai charts and the Global 200 isn't a famous chart. They want the Hot 100 and Circle chart placements If SM was going to commit fraud, they'd at least start with the bare minimum which is playlisting. Aespa's newest song has less than a sixth of every KATSEYE song being released, meaning HYBE has gotten 18x the playlisting for KATSEYE's new songs as SM did for Aespa's new song. (And that's not shade to anyone except SM - labels should invest in playlisting).

Because they think they know what the American market likes when they have no clue. Sending Sperm to America with that awful NCT sounding music when NCT doesn’t even do well here shows that.

 

aespa should could have built on the momentum they were building with more music geared towards what’s in trend now but also being different enough to stand out. A English song here and there isn’t the way to do it.
