I just can't get into spotify....

Featured Replies

Ive tried for years to use it but I hate playlists. I use pandora and their algorithm is amazing cause I'm constantly discovering new music cause the station you pick just plays similar music that you like constantly. Like a personalized radio station... I can't get that on spotify.. not interested in payola playlists.  spotify use to have a sister app a few years back called Stations which was similar to Pandora. I used it and it wasn't bad, had similar format to pandora but then they killed it like 2 years ago or something.

Whenever an album finishes playing on Spotify it always plays similar music in the same style by similar artists that other people who listened to the same album I listened to - also listened to.

Spotify also learns from what you as an individual listen to the more you use it and I find its algorithm works for me. I can't imagine life without it.

Don't get into Spotify! It's not worth it - they don't pay artists anything and now rely on AI more and more which made Spotify Wrapped not fun this year. Discover and consume music your own way. Why can't you keep using Pandora? I personally use Apple Music which I know it's not thaaat much better than Spotify, and the algorithm sucks, but at least the sound quality is good.

I switched to Apple Music and I managed to discover some good music already + dj sets :siptea: but Spotify also has discovery playlist and other ways to discover music, there is really not that much more they can do to help you find something new

Yes, it's a single app for me to see live performances and actual audios

this radio featuring works well on Apple Music. not much my kind of tea, also playlists. I've been using Apple Music/iTunes since I've started listening to music on PCs back in the day.

That's not true. They could do so much more than just a weekly playlist.

I used to love Spotify

Now it's plagued with ghosts/ai artists that are not real, also the same big label puppets getting millions of fake streams

They've made it impossible to find real genuine artists.

And it's become an unethical company they are paying **** to small artists

As a consumer they now suck it basically Ai music or shitty label artists like Sabrina

Spotify stats are public though and every artist has enormous psychological pressure to have good stats on there. It's also the first thing festivals, booking agents, labels etc. look at. So artists very much need the audience to stream the album on Spotify.

if you have a spotify account, follow your favourite artists and tap the like button on your fav albums and songs, the spotify algorithm will generate personalized daily mixes based on the different artists or genres you favourited.

What do you use now?

I switched from Apple Music to Spotify this year and haven't really had any issues. It's recommendations for new songs/artists have been okay so far. I did prefer the personalized "radio" playlist on Apple vs. the AI DJ Spotify has.

Me but with apple music however I Spotify is still my main source because apple music still won't connect to statsfm for Android users

Apple kinda crap like that , like I love the quality in music but I love stats.fm more
