I wouldn't count him out. All he needs to do is call up Ariana for a collab and it's an instant #1. 

He can definitely smash with the right song or collab even. 

The same thing was said before Blinding Lights became the biggest song all time

Timeless is a big hit so no. He just needs to choose his singles better and maybe take it easy on the europop synths from 1984 and give us some r&b. There's a reason why Is There Someone Else is getting more streams as a Dawn FM album cut than all 3 singles combined.

His synth music is so good. Dawn FM is probably my favourite album from him, Take My Breath is probably one of my favourite songs ever

 generic trap beat darkwave moody heavy bass and kendrick feature may not be on his bingo card now, or later?

I wouldn't count him out but I do feel that post-The Idol, his allure kinda did get damaged.
