Those of you dragging the performance of Disease need to be mindful of the fact that the song is EXPERIMENTAL - she literally sounds like an asylum escapee throughout - and is also not receiving a huge amount of promo. All she did was drop a weird poster for the song (which didn't even specify that it was a song) and then the single, followed by radio silence...

 

It's been a dumb rollout so far but she and Interscope must have known that this era wouldn't hit as hard for the general public... hence why Die With A Smile was released. WHICH IS, by the way, about to reach its peak in the US and UK. And it IS Lady Gaga's song as well as Bruno's. Idc about "sOLo" - she literally embarked on a SOLO stadium tour two years ago and has a solo ballad SMASH in ARUTW. DWAS is a duet. It's both artists on the single cover and in the music video throughout.

 

Monsters... lower your expectations. Just enjoy the music. And I don't want to hear "excuses!!!" when sonically, it is CLEARLY a very experimental album. ABRAAAA-ABRACADABRAAAAAA. Come on, now... 

 

AND before Katy Perry stans come in for a laugh: Woman's World was crafted specifically for radio and had an entire month of in-your-face promo. This song and its rollout is completely different. The fact that it pulled 5m+ streams on its first day (unfiltered) just shows that the interest is there but it can't be sustained because... why should it? Nothing is happening on Gaga's end.

Some "excuses" are valid. Not everything is as black and white as "GP HATE GAGA, GAGA OVER"

It's not experimental. The lyrics are pretty safe.

what's experimental about blatantly copying your old sound from a previous album (Artpop)? 

Girl, the song is a BLAST, but it's not experimental, though its vocal delivery goes hard

 

I mean, just cackle at its chart performance so far and move on, the song at least is great (can't say the same about the kids bop'd Stupid Larva)

 

Is it experimental per se? No. But it's much more interesting than the Gaga song that the GP is eating up so I couldn't care less about the commercial reception of whatever Gaga does moving forward.

Genuinely can't tell if this is a set up thread or not…

Girl be so for real. Disease is dark electropop but how is it experimental? The lyrics are pretty basic. The song is dope but its NOT the avant-garde experimental electronica bop some of you insufferable liddos make it out to be
