"Doctor (Work It Out)" flopped. Why?

Featured Replies

Stans and GP were anticipating a smash hit after the "Flowers" era. However! It all went wrong for Miley's medicine-themed song. Why?

It was a throwback song that Miley did not even really promote. Be serious

idk, having a smash hit (especially solo) guarantees that your next song is a hit and you're not a flop, no?

The song had been online for like 10 years prior to release and no one bothered to promote it so what was it really gonna do :suburban:

It's bad, Alright and Sweetener are looking more and more like flukes every passing day.

Pharrell lead credit + mid song + OLD song that Smilers never wanted + no promotion

Funnily it still debuted with a cute 2M on Spotify which is more than other late-00s pop girls' recent SOLO outputs :soda:

the gp don't really fück with miley's music

Flowers? PITUSA? Wrecking Ball?

Camila Portabello is really a bad omen. All artists flopped after collabing with her

There was no reason for it to randomly do good but who cares, it's such a bop

I swear they payola'ed this onto my Apple Music 2024 Replay Playlist. I only listened to it a couple of times before getting sick of it, but it had a permanent residency on there no matter how many other songs I played. It finally was pushed off of there last week after terrorizing my playlist for MONTHS :deadbanana4:

It's literally a bangerz  reject that miley re recorded and put out for fun. What's the big deal here?

She should've released this instead

But aside from that it was a reject from Bangerz already leaked for 10 years, what noise was it gonna make?

The fact that it debuted with 2M+ on spotify and even charted is impressive in itself :giraffe:

Because it's an absolutely abhorrent song. I truly don't understand why they chose to resurrect it from its 2013 death bed. Like why? :gaycat6:
