It's trash, just like the parent album. That's why

The song is mid. Doesn't sound like a hit. And that's ok. Cruel Summer is also still going strong after 5 years.

It was an okay song but nothing stunning

Hype can only do so much before organic taste comes into play and that's where it faltered

Very boring song and album. I don't even remember the melodies. I just listened to it when it was released and never wanted to suffer this pain again.

That entire long ass album is boring af

She should go back to Max Martin and try to replicate 1989

She was trying not to get overexposed and thus chose a non-obvious single choice.  Still, it has out-streamed the lead singles from Beyoncé and Ariana.

When has Beyonce ever been a mega streaming force...ever? She always has bad or average streams 9 times out of 10. She a legend but using her as a standard for how successful a song is via streaming metrics sends. :bibliahh:

It's a good song but it's not a single material, especially a lead one.

Not a song that was ever going to linger around with such staying power as Anti-Hero. While both songs are very much "chill pop", Anti Hero has a pretty zingy chorus and one-liners (for better or worse). It's perfect for radio or while you're shopping in CVS. Fortnight on the other hand is pretty lowkey to the point it is not as "catchy" or "instant". Fortnight is more a vibe song than anything else.

I much prefer Fortnight, but I understand why it didn't hit like Anti Hero.

No one knows that song besides Swifties. I haven't heard it once since I listened to the album when it came out

No fr that fake version would have been isn't of the summer.

The song is very much a hit and the album is smashing as a whole, nothing "went wrong" :toofunny3:

Just because a song isn't the biggest hit of the year doesn't mean it's doing badly :toofunny3:

It's blatant Lana cosplay without the magic that Lana usually has in her music

That's been pretty much her entire career after 1989

Many people in this forum would consider her lead single as a successful lead single.  Do you disagree or are you just trying to be argumentative.

They're pushing the second single now so of course it's going to "free fall" s:wan:

But her "free fall" is the biggest freefall update in a single day on chart's history:rip:

there's only so many times I can sing "I love you, it's ruining my life" over a situationship before i pull the trigger
