~ recently doja cat has made it an effort to reestablish her self as a female rapper. delivering jaw dropping songs where she showcases her rap skills (kill bill (remix) ; ouchies ; paint the town red ; etc.) my question for you is... Do You Consider Doja Cat A Rapper?

why not, she has better flow and can out rap like 90% of the rapper out there

 

 

Just because she sings too, that doesn't make her any less of a rapper. It's what makes her one of the most interesting and versatile artists out there

no not really. she's a pop star who happens to rap. Same as Nicki and Fergie

how can she be anything other than a rapper? She raps WAY more than she sings, is better than the majority of female rappers out there, etc.

 

also, we have TONS of singers who occasionally rap and we donʻt call them rappers.

Is the sky blue? Is grass green? She doesn't have a single song where she doesn't rap in it. 😭 99% of the time it's just loser barbz trying to discredit her as a rapper.

She's never going to be rated like a rapper by the Hip Hop community until she does certain things to align herself with the culture. Doesn't matter what I personally think.

The difference is Kesha is a pop star who happens to dabble in rapping… Doja is a rapper who happens to dabble in a multitude of genres… If you asked Kesha what she considers herself, she'd say a singer/pop star. If you ask Doja, she'd say a versatile rapper. It's that simple.

i think of her to be more of a singer who raps, cause i used to put her in the same frame as the likes of Tinashe, Jhene, Kehlani (and these girls can rap too)

It's incredibly weird to resort to calling someone a homophobic slur because they disagree about what qualifies someone as a rapper. Very strange indeed.
