Yes, I lie to strangers on grindr that I'm younger.  For safety and privacy reasons, No creepy grindr user should know my age.

But I don't lie my age in real life.

Lying about your age to real people is very strange. Chances are you look close to your actual age too, so it's a dangerous game and could make you seem devious right off the bat.

 

Lying when setting up a profile on social media I would do because I don't want these tech giants to know all of my personal information. Even then it's usually only changing day and month. 

My age on Tinder is two years older (24 when I'm actually 22) and the stupid add wouldn't allow me to change it. It's been like that since I first made the account years ago, I was probably below 18.

I've been tempted to because my look doesn't match what people would assume a typical person of my age would look like.

 

I attract the opposite crowd of what I look for because young guys assume I will be their first experience with an old guy in his late 20s and the old guys that I am generally drawn to are turned off my by actual age I have friends who I might run into on dating apps so I don't want to embarrass myself by faking my age.

 

But lying about it is so common that about 50-70% of people I talked to lied. My current fwb lied about everything, including his name without blinking, it's insane
