I wonder if her team expected such a feedback. Now for me it looks like a "Dark Horse" that is influencing the current single's success, and the label has to act somehow to please both singles.

If you would've told me Sabrina Carpenter, the girl who originally would peak in the top 25 of pop radio while being completely N/A on the Hot 100 during 2017-2019, is now challenging to dominate the top 2 spots of the Hot 100… I wouldn't believe it at all  I'm very perched, she truly deserves this after struggling all these years. Genuinely one of my favorite songs this year, I cannot get enough of this.

 

I think "Espresso" is a fine pop song and certainly an important song for Sabrina's career, but PPP is one of those songs that turns people from just casual listeners to actual fans.
