I don't know what's your point here, but I'm going to say the following.   1. The release date (4/11) was given by the user below, who is an insider in another forum which you really know we

  • Dear Dance The Night,   I hope this letter does not find you well.   You are like a musical mosquito. In the summer of 2023, you buzzed endlessly in everyone's ears and refused to

She really gave us DSN, Physical and Hallucinate round 2.0 again :jonny:

I'm really underwhelmed by the snippet, yet it has been in my head 24/7 since hearing it

I was underwhelmed at first also and has grown on me a lot. Hopefully it will be stuck in the GP heads also!!

Houdini > Illusion >>> Training Season (extended)

I don't get all the hate Illusion is getting.

Wait. This is only a promo single? Not when it sounds like it's going to be the best out of the released songs so far… :skull:

Some says its just promo some says its regular 3rd single. But normally there would be physical pre-orders like for Houdini and TS no?

Or were physicals for Houdini and TS announced later?

I personallyO prefer Training Season over Houdini, and I just hope the album will be collection of 11 equally strong songs without any filler

At last, someone who likes Training Season. It's such a unique song and I absolutely love it! This is one of Dua's best songs imo! The chorus is simply immaculate! Regarding the album, I think we'll get 11 completely different songs that somehow fit sonically and lyrically. Dua said everything that's to come is so different from Houdini. Even though TS is right after it, it's still so different. Can't wait to dive deeper into the rest of the tracks. I'm sure this album will not disappoint, the problem though is that people want songs that hit instantlybut Dua strives for longevity and quality and those kinds of songs take longer to digest. I have to admit, I didn't really like Houdini when I first listened to. It grew on me over time as well as TS. It gets better with every listen.

... also people complained Houdini and TS were darker and not with "ibiza" aesthetic of the cover, so I assume "Illusion" will be more bright and summery

I'm still bopping, the snippet on repeat sounds like a full song already so I can't imagine the collapse of the full thing :jonnycat:

I adore Houdini but when I listen to TS I even like it more (until I listen to Houdini again). Illusion sounds immaculate and I will be blasting it a lot.

Everything she's released so far is pop perfection. I truly do not get people why they're disliking the songs.

I think it may have something to do with the tracklist and how the songs are positioned. Houdini and Training Season are above the water whilst the rest of the songs along with Illusion are underwater. I have something called chromesthesia which means that I experience music in colours, shapes, textures, etc. Houdini is murky/camouflage green and TS is a mixture of yellow, orange, red, and there's also a bit of purple in it. Both songs have darker elements but not completely. The Illusion cover is black which probably means the song is darker too. I haven't heard the snippet though, I've stopped listening to the singles so when the album comes out, I want to go into it fresh. I'm guessing the further we go into the album, the colour and the vibes of the covers are going to change drastically. For me, the Illusion cover gives me dancing in the dark on a beach near the ocean.

Me neither, I truly think it has something to do with the moderate success of the songs. With FN, DSN also wasn't received super well then ended up smashing, so people pulled out the "It grew on me so much!” card.

I think it's only partially the success stanning though, I think when a song is successful it forces people to listen to a song over and over whether it be through the radio or through discussions, etc. If more people have Houdini/TS a chance I think they'd realize the songs are huge growers, even if they were instant to me. She's making the best music of her career so regardless of the success, I'm loving the era so far.

I mean, Dua may never get a no 1 single but what she WILL get is my love and appreciation for her music.

what i don't get from this era is the beach / summer aesthetic

Like someone in a previous thread perfectly stated, you all see water, a blue-themed colour palette, and sharks and immediately brush it off as a beach aesthetic when that's not exactly the vision for the album, it's just a supporting feature. The album's vibe from its album cover, artwork, picture filters, and text font evidently draw from the sublime and breezy feel of the Cool Britannia era, and that perfectly aligns with the sonic attitude of the album so far, which is very 1990s Britpop-oriented, the prevailing genre at the time of the aforementioned period.

This sounds like the Physical/Rain On Me moment of DL3.

Gay. Uptempo. Danceable. Dripping with confidence.

Yeah, I really, really love it. Hope the verses/bridge/outro slap…

DSN was a global success from day 1

Not people ranking this based on a 9 seconds long snippet with drowned out sound :skull:
