as a longtime diamond, I'm ready to admit that while Ancient Dreams is incredibly gorgeous sonically, the lyricism is just plain bad in a lot of spots. I think I was so comparatively blinded by how musically advanced the album is compared to the all around BLAH-ness of L+F that I just forwent the lyrics and pretended that it was on the level of TFJ and Froot when really certain songs like Pandora's Box and ILYBILMM are so frustratingly surface level 

 

still, in terms of musical composition, the album is very beautiful
