In what world the one that's being called for the remix is the one who needs it the most?

 

As far as I know Ariana got him on a slow album track that wasn't meant for commercial success, while Abel called her twice to push his already huge hits to #1. 

 

The only reasons why Ariana's remixes with Abel have more impressive stats than her own songs are 1) his songs reach more people, Ariana still fails to reach boomers and Gen X with her hit singles and 2) Abel's hits are slow burners, that means more weeks on the charts, while Ariana's debut high and have worse longevity, also due to the fact that her team moves to the next thing very quickly instead of focusing and maximizing the success.

 

Thankfully Abel knows the truth, since he credits Ariana for introducing him to Max Martin aka the producer that got him the two biggest smashes of the past decade, on top of multiple huge hits.

 

Ariana did it effortlessly with TUN and 7R when they debuted and stayed at the top for months, especially TUN which was released on a sunday and hit #1 with 5 days of tracking and no music video. Of course she can do it again, but in the middle of a hate train? That's even more impressive of course, and proof of her chart power.
